Think carefully on this soul-searching question- "If you should die right now, do you know for sure that you would go to Heaven?"
If your answer is anything other than, "Yes, I'm absolutely certain that my sins are forgiven and that Heaven will be my home," then here is an important message just for you.
The Bible teaches that you need to know and to believe four things to settle your eternity:
- First, you have sinned against God- "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
- Then, God tells us where sin leads- "For the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23
- The wonderful news of the Bible is that Jesus died on the cross, was buried and rose again to pay the penalty for your sin.- "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
- Now, here is what God wants you to do- "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved....For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:9,13
God wants you to believe His word and take Christ as your personal Savior.
If you will-
Then, right now, pray this simple prayer, asking the Lord to save you (it's not the prayer saving you, it is your belief in the Lord Jesus saving you as the verses above stated)....
"Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner, I know that Jesus died on the cross for me. Please forgive me of my sin, come into my heart, and save me. In Jesus' name, Amen."
If you told the Lord that and believed it with all your heart, you are now a child of God! So what's next? GROW! Any child must grow and mature. How do you do that?
1. Read your Bible daily (Psalm 119:105)
2. Pray everyday (James 5:16)
3. Find a Bible-believing church, attend regularly, and serve Him! (Psalm 122:1)
4. Witness to others and tell them what He has done for you! (Mark 5:19)
Remember--these things do not help you to be saved (Ephesians 2:8-9), only faith in Jesus can save you, but these things help you to have a better relationship with the Lord by obeying His Word!
